During this summer, I had the most welcome opportunity to disconnect and exhale over family summer holidays to Croatia and the South of Spain.
One important thing I did during these trips was to confront some of my fears, which I have started to do one at a time! During these holidays, I let go and enjoyed sea travels from the lower deck of the boat and appreciated God’s creation. I would not normally be caught so comfortable in the middle of the sea let alone the lower deck of a boat if paid to!
I also got on steep rides in a water park, sliding down into deep waters and swimming out! It was not too bad, although I did come out of one of them extremely dizzy! I recovered quickly, and it was worth the try!
Here are three important lessons:
1. It is good to confront your fears and challenge yourself to do new and difficult things. It also goes a long way to supporting our children to overcome their fears, too.
2. It is important to enjoy the sea safely. The sea should not be feared but must be respected.- Lessons from my husband.
3. It is good to teach your children to swim from an early age. It is an important skill to have.
I hope you also had the opportunity to take time off to get some rest and “you“ time! Did you try any new things? Have you tackled any fears recently?
Good Luck!
