We must not forget that these riots stem from unchecked racism and discrimination, fueled by years of spreading lies and hate about immigration, and unfairly blaming racialised communities as the root of the UK’s issues. This has fostered harmful stereotypes and prejudices, particularly against Black and Ethnic Minority groups. We must do better.
