1. To look at the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics in the context of racial equality and inclusion, cultural humility, and sensitivity.
2. To gain an increased awareness of the role racism plays in our day-to-day lives, Identify some of the key forms of racism and ways of challenging racism in yourself and others.
3. To examine positive intervention strategies around anti-racism practice.
4. To reflect on how to incorporate knowledge into day-to-day practice.
Participants will be equipped on how to promote cultural diversity and learn ways in which they can overcome barriers to working positively with Black service users, colleagues, and stakeholders. Able to apply relevant reflective tools in their day-to-day practice. Gain knowledge of social work models and useful resources for working with cultural diversity. Reflect on the discussion points to learn more about themselves, their perception and worldview including how this might influence their practice. Increased knowledge and confidence around sensitive interactions of race and racism.
