The Book D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y.

I would like to introduce you to my newly published book D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y.: A Guide to Working with Diversity and Developing Cultural Sensitivity. Officially published in the UK and US on March 2023 by Jessica Kingsley Publishers (JKP). 

I was stirred up to write this book following the gruesome murder of George Floyd in the US in May 2020. The first few pages pays tribute to him, to remind society that racism and other forms of discrimination is very much alive and kicking. At the heart of this book is Every Individual Matters and in order to understand what matters to each individual you have to listen carefully and to consider what it is like to tread in the shoes of another.

D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y. is designed as an educational resource written for individuals and professionals, and public servants who are seeking knowledge on how to work effectively with diversity and become culturally competent. It is intended to be an accessible and easy-to-use practice tool for social workers, healthcare staff, teachers, counsellors, university lecturers and all those involved in people-facing professions  (Author - Vivian Okeze - Tirado)
