Fostering Course - What you need to know before and during
Course Outline
•This is a crash course on Fostering. The purpose is to give valuable insight to those considering caring for vulnerable looked after children to enable them choose and shape their fostering path.
•To help course participants reflect on their personality and consider the type of Fostering that they are best suited for. To consider your skills and experience, physical availability, home capacity, family commitment etc.
•To undertake a quiz and complete some worksheets which will give course participants an insight to the kind of fostering they could start up with e.g. Respite vs Mainstream, Short term vs Long term, babies etc.
•To give a basic foundation on Fostering and equip course participants from the onset on what to expect in their journey to this special humanitarian vocation.
What you will gain
This training will equip you with all you need to know about fostering a vulnerable looked after child or children, it will give you an informed view before you decide to foster a child to support you in making the decision to foster, and shaping your fostering path. If you are already a foster carer, you will gain valuable insights and robust knowledge around becoming an efficient one.
